Dr. Aguilera’s family has been living in Brevard County for 22 years. She graduated from Satellite Beach High School with Honors and then continued onto complete her undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. Dr. Aguilera graduated with her Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in 2011. While completing her degree, she was actively involved in organizations including: Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity, Lions Club, and the American Optometric Association student division. She received the College’s Module Directors Award during her final year of her doctorate program for outstanding clinical performance. Dr. Aguilera continued her education by completing a residency in Pediatrics and Binocular vision at the Southern College of Optometry. Her residency research paper was later published in Optometry & Visual Performance. After the completion of her residency, Dr. Aguilera practiced in a private optometry office in Plano, Texas for several years. During her time in Texas, along with providing comprehensive and medical exams, Dr. Aguilera also worked closely with facilities such as Baylor Hospital, specializing in the treatment of visual disorders caused by traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Aguilera moved back to Brevard County in 2013 and continued to work in private, corporate and research settings. Dr. Aguilera continues to be very involved in research and rehabilitation. She has completed a study conducted at Bascom Palmer in Miami, FL. Dr. Aguilera is now living in Satellite Beach, FL. She enjoys spending time with her children and her husband and is actively involved in her religion and community.
